The article examines examples of punishment of noblemen in the early Modern History by dishonoring their coat d'arms in various European countries. These cases testified to the increase of royal power in the sphere of estate heraldic identification.

B.L. Khavkin. German Jews in the Years of the Hitler’s Regime

Based on little-known in Russia sources and literature, the author tells about the life of Jews in Germany in 1933-1945 and proves that many German Jews, who became the first victims of Nazism and forced to choose between submission and Resistance, chose the Resistance.

A.V. Zorin. The Problem of Withdrawal of the US Army from Czechoslovakia in 1945

In the spring of 1945 the US Army divisions took part in the liberation of Western Czechoslovakia, creating an American occupation zone on its territory. The article analyzes some problems of their further stay and withdrawal from the Czechoslovakia after the end of the war.

N.V. Korovitsyna. European East and West: Sociocultural Convergence?

The author analyzes the results of the entry of Central and Eastern European countries into the Western world and concludes that the collapse of socialism and democratization did not lead to adaptation to European/Western values, but, on the contrary, further distanced these countries from Europe.

V.I. Balakin. Foreign Chinese Diasporas and the East Asian Integration Strategy of the PRC 2007-2017

The article examines China's policy towards the Chinese diaspora abroad. Its representatives (huaqiao) often shy away from direct support of the leadership of the PRC, but it steadily and unsuccessfully exerts pressure on the huaqiao, treating them as agents of its influence.

Block in the Negotiations between the British Ambassador Charles Cathcart and the Russian Empress Catherine II

The essay tells about the stay of British Ambassador C. Cathcart in Russia: his desire to sign a union treaty between Russia and England, as well as his impressions of Catherine II, ministers, courtiers and customs of Russian people.

The essay is based on the memoirs of Dorothea von Lieven, the maid of honor, who served at the court of three emperors - Paul I, Alexander I and Nicholas I. But most of her life she spent abroad and was involved in major political events of European diplomacy.

A.G. Guskov. Russia's Participation in Karlovyts Congress (1698–1699): Russian Diplomacy in the Early Modern Period

The article examines the participation of Russian diplomats in the negotiation process in Karlovyts Congress (1698-1699). In the author’s opinion, the head of the Russian delegation, P.B. Voznitsyn, competently and skillfully defended the interests of Russia, getting the maximum from the situation.

In the article the author seeks to understand whether this international forum has become a diplomatic defeat of Russia at the negotiating table or a logical result of the previous policy of the government. How correctly they formulated the goals and adequately selected methods for achieving them. What is the role of these or those persons in the highest echelons of power in the adoption and implementation of responsible decisions.

S.A. Mulina. Bar Confederates in Modern Polish Memory and Historiography

The article is devoted to the identification of trends in the transformation of the image of the Bar Confederation in modern Polish historiography and social memory, beginning in the 90s of the 20th century. The image of the Bar Confederation, formed in social memory, influenced the problems of historical research. But the conclusions of professional historians did not always coincide with the position of the public.

O.V. Volosyuk. Way to the East: Spanish Missionary Francis Xavier

The article examines the activities of the Jesuits in Asia in the sixteenth century. on the example of the Spaniard Francis Xavier, who was the first among the members of the Society of Jesus to set foot on the land of Asia and devoted missionary work there for more than 10 years.

V.P Kazakov. Juan Bautista Justo: Argentine Socialism

The article analyzes in detail the views of the leader of the Argentinean Socialist Party Juan Bautista Justo (1865-1928). He is the author of the unique concept of "Argentine socialism" - a peaceful transition to a society based on collective ownership of the means of production, through democratic and social reforms, not revolution.

In the article, based on the documents of the State Archives of the Russian Federation and the Archive of the Foreign Policy of the Russian Empire, the history of the Russian Declaration in support of the creation of a "Jewish Homeland" in Palestine is examined.
