This paper analyzes Tudor's financial policy in the context of the problem of the formation of “Modern State” in England. The author investigates the transformation of the tax system, shows the evolution of the parliamentary subsidy in 1485–1603.

A.A. Sidorov. Anglo=American Negotiations and the Formation of the Foundations of the Postwar International Trading System during the Second World War

The article examines the negotiations between the United States and Great Britain during the Second World War on the postwar international trading system. The United States, in conditions of its economic superiority, insisted on free trade, while the Great Britain, with some success, aimed to limitations to protect itself from unwanted competition.

N.A. Zherlitsyna. The Ideological Factor in the Relations between the USSR and the Countries of the Maghreb in the 1950s-1980s

The article examines the experience of the three Maghreb countries, who have chosen various development options: the conservative Kingdom of Morocco, Algeria, which has chosen a socialist orientation, and the Tunisian Republic, briefly "fall for" a mild socialist experiment and the influence of the Soviet Union on the development of the Maghreb countries in the sphere of economy and public consciousness.

The article examines the peculiarities of Catalan and Scottish separatism and the attitude of the governments of Spain and Great Britain to it. While London allowed to hold in Scotland an independence referendum and agreed to recognize its results, Madrid opposed such a scenario in Catalonia.

I.A. Hormach. Russia and the Paris Peace Conference

The article is devoted to the problem of Russia's involvement in the formation of the Versailles-Washington system and summing up the results of the First World War. On the basis of published and archival sources, the author shows the process of the conference, the creation of the foundations of a new world system, including the League of Nations, the process of the transition of Russia in the eyes of great powers from an ally to the enemy, the development of plans for a conference on the Princes Islands, and then covered and open intervention, conditions the return of the state to the world community after the October Revolution.
