In the article is analyzed concept of «People» in French social and political terminology of the end XVIII century. Instead of scientific precision «People» was defined metaphorically, the mythological image, replaced the real object.

The article highlights the two stages of development of the Petersburg American studies of the Post-Soviet period. In the 1990s - early 2000s it was on the rise; at the present time it has been influenced by the reanimated anti-Americanism and to revive the bureaucratic obstacles.

A.M. Filitov. A New Look at the Classic Source on the History of the Anti-Hitler Coalition

Analyzing the work of V.O. Pechatnov and I.E. Magadeev "Correspondence between I.V. Stalin, F. Roosevelt and W. Churchill during the Second World War", A.M. Filitov comes to the conclusion that the authors anew study this classical source.

Firstly, the authors traced the process of creating messages to the leaders of the "Big Three", which was different in Moscow, Washington and London. Secondly, historians were able to show how these documents were perceived their addressees; Thirdly, the researchers placed the correspondence of the heads of the leading states of anti-Hitler coalition in the broader context of the Union's diplomacy of the war years.

V.I. Dashichev. Discussion of the Book of A.M. Nekrich "22 June 1941" (the history of the debate)

The journal publishes the speech of V.I. Dashichev in the discussion in February 1966 at the Institute of Marxism-Leninism about the book of A.M. Nekrich, which held the idea that the inability of the authorities to recognize and correct its mistakes in policy leads to serious consequences.

In 2012 and 2014 were published in two volumes the works of conference of Russian and German historians "Russia and the Germans in the era of catastrophes: The memory of the war and overcoming the past" and "Work on the past: the twentieth century in communications and memory of post-war generation in Germany and Russia." The collections are the result of many years of cooperation between Russian and German specialists.

Report of P.N. Milyukov "Revaluation of Foreign Policy"

V.L. Telitsyn prepared the publication of the document from the archives of the Russian Diaspora Cultural Center "House Museum of Marina Tsvetaeva". The text of the report is published for the first time.

ign of 1813-1814

The article deals with the battle at Saint-Croix in Alsace in December 1813 between the Russian and the French cavalry; the Russian cavalry (including Cossacks) for several hours took Colmar. The author analyzes the course of battle and relations between local residents and Russian during the occupation of the city, and then the prisoners.
