The article analyzes the US views on Germany’s attempts to drive expansion into Mexico at the end of the World War I, shortly after the Mexican revolution had finished. The author gives insight into the measures taken by Washington in order to preserve Mexico in its domain. The American policy was backed by greater knowledge and a more realistic approach in judgments of Mexico’s internal condition.

On the basis of Russian and German sources and literature examines the possibility of creating an anti-Hitler German government in the 1943-1945 and relations within the "big three" in communication by German anti-Hitler Resistance, which objectively was anti-Hitler coalition ally.

The article discusses the frontier zone of cooperation between Russia and the European Union - the Baltic region, and analyzes its economic and socio-cultural potentials in the development of cooperation between Russia and the European Union.

V. I. Zhuravleva Overseas Voyage of Sergei Syromiatnikov or How to Persuade Americans to Study Russia

This article, based upon primary sources from Russian and American repositories, is devoted to the activity of Sergei Nikolaevich Syromiatnikov (pseudonym Sigma), Russian conservative political writer, an Orientalist scholar, a traveler, and an intelligence agent, who was sent to the United States by the Russian government as a publicity agent during the First World War. It was a period of time when Russia and the United States not only grew closer, but also became aware of need to expand the flow of reliable information about each other and to reformat their mutual perceptions. Sigma was one of those people who took part in the process of the rethinking Russia in the United States.

N.K. Kapitonova. Edward Heath - Prime Minister-"Loser"

The essay is dedicated to the British Prime Minister Edward Heath (1970-1974), to the man, who led the country to Europe and lost power due to a serious conflict with the trade unions, which ended with the national miners' strike. Dissolution of the Parliament and the calling of general elections was a serious miscalculation of Heath: the Tories had the most votes but Labour had slightly more seats.

V.O. Zverev. (Omsk). Espionage of the German Colonists in Russia (1904-1914): Fiction or Reality?

The author reflects over questions, whether there were German immigrants in Russia the German military spies and what danger was constituted by their numerous colonies for external safety of Russia.

He comes to the conclusion that some evidence pointing to the involvement of German colonists to intelligence activities in favor of Germany is not sufficient to charge the Germans living in Russia in the military espionage.
