The article examines the crucial role of the Soviet Union and its armed forces in the final stages of World War II, reveals the motives of US foreign policy and its "chief architect" President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who laid the foundations of the postwar American dominance in the world. The author introduces the idea that there was a real chance of cooperation between the USSR and the USA on the post-war period, which have not been implemented because of the beginning "cold war."

Khristophorov is based on the previously unknown documents from the Foreign Policy Archives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History and the Central Archive of the FSB of Russia. The article considers new details of the organization and conduct of the Soviet-Finnish negotiations for a truce in March and September 1944

In the article, based on extensive archival materials, the author shows the evolution of the views of Washington and Brussels on the "the Soviet energetic threat" in the 1970s - 1980s.

E.А. Susloparova. Arthur Henderson – the «architect» of the British Labour Party

The essay deals with the famous British Politician Arthur Henderson, who was the Leader of the Labour Party three times in the first decades of the XX-th century, at the same time holding the office of its secretary from 1911 to 1934. The Author traces Henderson’s path into the Labour Party, the role, he played in the crucial events of its early history, his work in the War coalition and Labour cabinets (1915-1917, 1924, 1929-1931).

V.O. Zverev. (Omsk). Espionage of the German Colonists in Russia (1904-1914): Fiction or Reality?

The author reflects over questions, whether there were German immigrants in Russia the German military spies and what danger was constituted by their numerous colonies for external safety of Russia.

He comes to the conclusion that some evidence pointing to the involvement of German colonists to intelligence activities in favor of Germany, is not sufficient to charge the Germans living in Russia in the military espionage.
