Carley M.J. (Canada). «Only the USSR Have…"Clean Hands": the USSR, Collective Safety in Europe and Destiny of Czechoslovakia (1934-1938)
In the article based on an extensive archival material is shown the escalation of Czechoslovak crisis, which has led to the Munich pact 1938. The author in details shines the position of the USSR, in particular, the Litvinov's role in occurring events, and also behavior of the western politicians, not wished to protect Czechoslovakia from claims from outside "the Third Reich".

À.V. Pilko. The NATO and the Berlin Crisis of 1958-1961;
In the article political and military reaction of the NATO to the second Berlin crisis is shown. The author investigates influence which on the North Atlantic block was rendered by events round the Western Berlin, and also a policy of Soviet Union in the Berlin question. On the basis of new sources the measures of military character developed by the NATO in connection with the second Berlin crisis are characterized.

V. N. Vinogradov. Ottoman Empire and Russia. The 15th – End of the 19th Century
In the article are considered relations of Russia and Ottoman empire since 1475 when ottoman armies occupied Crimea, to the conclusion of the Preliminary Treaty of San Stefano in 1878.

V.L. Malkov. Franklin d. Roosevelt’s phenomenon
The article deals with the Franklin Roosevelt’s phenomenon. The 32nd president of the USA played a vital role not only in the U.S. history but also in the lives of all humanity. He was a real figure of the 19th century as a leader of American people in war against poverty during the Great depression (1929–1939) and as a great statesman and diplomat during the Second World War whose contribution for the creation of the Antihitlerite coalition couldn’t be overestimated.

M.L. Svoyskiy. From history of Bakhmeteff Archive in the USA
Based on the extensive uses of materials from the Bakhmeteff Archive of Russian and East European History and Culture, the article considers the history of the creation of the archive as it developed since 1951. The author arrives to the conclusion that the availability of such rich collections in New York helped to preserve appreciation of Russian history and culture around the world.

N.I.Bukharin, I.S. Jazhborovsky. Edward Gierek: from a Course on Social Justice to an Economic Crisis;
E. Gierek from December, 1970 till September, 1980 was the first secretary of the Polish incorporated workers' party. He tried to accelerate social and economic development of the country at the expense of the western credits. As a result of the admitted errors in social economic policy the population standard of life has decreased, in economy stagnation was observed, in a society the discontent with a spent policy accrued. The new public conflict became inevitable, and Gierek was necessary to leave the post.

I.I. Orlik. I. Antonescu Trials in Bucharest. 1946;
In the essay unknown earlier materials of the Romanian military criminals trials in Bucharest in May, 1946 are presented. The main charges of heads of Romania in crimes in territory of the USSR temporarily occupied by the Romanian armies are in detail consecrated. The author opens the maintenance of a sentence of process over I. Antonescu and its colleagues.

The essay is devoted the Russian French relations the day before and during the Parisian congress of 1856 which has summed up the Crimean war. The author gives portrait characteristics of the main participants of process of peaceful settlement.
